GPS with Google Maps on Blackberry Curve 8310 | ART and SOLUTION

I has been change my 3,5 year old Nokia Phone to the BlackBerry Curve 8310. So far I am pretty happy with it. I spend about an hour to customize it to my needs.
Like my old nokia phone feature, BlackBerry Curve 8310 is the integrated GPS. Tracking your exact location using “Blackberry Maps” or a free program like Google Maps is not difficult and only takes a bit of preparation and patience. Follow these steps to make maps work on a Blackberry Curve. Free Google Maps works great with the integrated GPS and here is how I got it to work:
  • Make sure that the GPS is working and has connection to satellites. Go to Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS -> select the menu and choose “Refresh GPS”. The display will tell you the number of satellites it can reach and your location. I noticed it does not work in my office in San Jose or in close range to high rise buildings.
  • Download Google Maps from google.com/gmm (using the Blackberry browser) and follow the instructions to install it on your Blackberry (I have Google Maps version 2.0.1). Do not use the Google Suite installer for Blackberry (which includes additional Google apps), since according to some reports has a different Google Maps version which does not work with the internal GPS.
  • Go to Options -> Applications -> Google Maps -> select the menu and choose “Edit Permissions”; Select connections and select the menu to expand it. Make sure you allow “Location (GPS)” and “Carrier Internet” connections for the app.
  • Save the changes. Go back the applications menu and start Google Maps. Hit “0“ ? and it should now show a blinking point which indicates your current location.

As I started test to drive, the “dot” started following along the route

Note#1 :
Very soon, on the road, I was at the 2nd step, but the map was still showing the first step and the dot was beyond the range of the current map/screen [ reason : I didn't manually press "3" to move to the next step ]. So, you have to manually keep pressing “3″ to get the next step direction [ It is your job to keep the moving dot/map within the scope of the screen ]
Note#2 :
The map doesn’t rotate to keep your heading … in other words, you will need to rotate your 8310, so that you know whether to turn right or left, as you navigate the various steps.
Note#3 :
It doesn’t re-calculate if you take a wrong turn.
Another thing I noticed is that when you zoom in, beyond a point, your “blinking blue dot” will be off road, going parallel to your route.
On the whole, IMHO, this is not a good “real-time” navigation aid. If you want a real time navigation tool, then this is not the one.
After going thru the TeleNav website, it looks a pretty robust application with tons of features [my ford's navigation system doesn't seem to have that many features]. Looks like there is a 30 day free trial for TeleNav.

How to Remove or Hide Navigation Bar on Blogspot

What is the Navbar? Navbar is a box of guidelines existing above our blog. Its function is to start doing the Sign In / out or can also create a new Blog. Navigation Bar can also be used to report fraud or weblog crime committed by a blogger, such as blog content that violates the TOS or other matters that are considered harmful.

A lot of people who host their blogs on Blogger (www.blogspot.com) complain about the inability to remove the blogger navigation bar via their elements page. Indeed, if that's where you are looking, the only thing you'll be able to do from there is change the color to one of several pre-determined selections.
Reasons To Remove It.
  • It looks more professional without it: Depending on what your purpose for blogging is, you may choose to remove the blogger navbar because having one makes a blog look more like a free-hosted blog and less like a professional site worth taking seriously.
  • It gives you more space at the top of your page: This may not seem significant, but not having the navbar there does give you a bit more space for graphics. I have found this space to be quite useful when designing my own blogs.
Reasons To Keep It.
  • It makes editing a little bit easier: You can login directly from the blog itself, and don't have to worry about logging into blogger. You can also edit capsules from the main page, without having to go into elements.
  • You get a teeny bit of traffic from the "next blog" button: And I do mean teenie. I can't even recall the last time I saw traffic from it.
If you really want to remove the blogger navigation bar, you need to access your HTML template. it's actually a very simple process that any non-technically-inclined person can accomplish with ease. Just follow these steps:

  1. Login to your blogger dashboard.
  2. Click "Layout"
  3. Click "Edit HTML"
  4. Find the BLUE code you see in the image to your right. The code will be quite near the top of your HTML section, you shouldn't have to scroll very far at all. The blue code should definitely be there, but the data box you see may not be, depending on where your template came from.
  5. ADD the code you see in red precisely where you it see it in the image to your right. If you want to copy and paste it, do so from the bold text you see below:
           #navbar-iframe {display: none !important;}

Use your preview button before you click save! If you like what you see, go ahead and save.

What happens if I want the navbar back in the future?
Simply go back into your HTML the same way and delete the part you just added. It's really that simple!

Global Warming

The world has been close to doomsday ...........!!!!
Natural calamities have spread all over the world, ranging from floods, storms and extreme global climate change resulting from human error in managing natural resources that cause global warming.

Global Warming

Measurements of temperature taken by instruments all over the world, on land and at sea have revealed that during the 20th century the Earth’s surface and lowest part of the atmosphere warmed up on average by about 0.6°C. During this period, man-made emissions of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide have increased, largely as a result of the burning of fossil fuels for energy and transportation, and land use changes including deforestation for agriculture. In the last 20 years, concern has grown that these two phenomena are, at least in part, associated with each other. That is to say, global warming is now considered most probably to be due to the increases in greenhouse gas emissions and concurrent increases in atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations, which have enhanced the Earth's natural greenhouse effect. Whilst other natural causes of climate change can cause global climate to change over similar periods of time, computer models demonstrate that in all probability there is a real discernible human influence on the global climate.

If the climate changes as current computer models have projected, global average surface temperature could be anywhere from 1.4 to 5.8°C higher by the end of the 21st century than in 1990. To put this temperature change into context, the increase in global average surface temperature which brought the Earth out of the last major ice age 14,000 years ago was of the order of 4 to 5°C. Such a rapid change in climate will probably be too great to allow many ecosystems to suitably adapt, and the rate of species extinction will most likely increase. In addition to impacts on wildlife and species biodiversity, human agriculture, forestry, water resources and health will all be affected. Such impacts will be related to changes in precipitation (rainfall and snowfall), sea level, and the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, resulting from global warming. It is expected that the societies currently experiencing existing social, economic and climatic stresses will be both worst affected and least able to adapt. These will include many in the developing world, low-lying islands and coastal regions, and the urban poor.

The Framework Convention on Climate Change (1992) and the Kyoto Protocol (1997) represent the first steps taken by the international community to protect the Earth's climate from dangerous man-made interference. Currently, nations have agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an average of about 5% from 1990 levels by the period 2008 to 2012. The UK, through its Climate Change Programme, has committed itself to a 12.5% cut in greenhouse gas emissions. Additional commitments for further greenhouse gas emission reduction will need to be negotiated during the early part of the 21st century, if levels of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere are to be stabilised at reasonable levels. Existing and future targets can be achieved by embracing the concept of sustainable development - development today that does not compromise the development needs of future generations. In practical terms, this means using resources, particularly fossil-fuel-derived energy, more efficiently, re-using and recycling products where possible, and developing renewable forms of energy which are inexhaustible and do not pollute the atmosphere.

Now we should support the movement to save the world, start of our daily lives, such as :
  • Energy savings, Reduce or limit the use of vehicles / cars, use environmentally friendly vehicles / hybrid

  • Use a phone that can be recycled so as not to contaminate the natural

Backlinks to your site or blog is very important | My Own Ways

Backlinks or links to your site or blog is very important, because backlinks effect will be very important to your blog, both in the SERP, increasing the amount of traffic and increase PageRank.
The problem is how do to know the link to our blog? Here we can use many ways to know the number of links that lead to our blog, depending on the parameters we want to know where we want to get info. The most difficult is the link that google indexed, because not all the links, be it a link in comment or the backlink be indexed by Google, and link criteria that considered how google is also still a mystery. To find a link from google, how pretty easy, go to google.com then type “link:www.yourdomain.com” in the search box, if you’re lucky then the link will be shown by google, but if the result does not exist , do not worry we can find backlinks again, maybe a matter of time because google only update the backlink index when there is an update pagerank either minor or major.
For the second way you can also use Yahoo as a pointer the number of backlinks you have. Unlike google yahoo relatively faster and easier to index our backlinks. Open this link http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ then in the search box type the url address of your blog for example http://www.ebanxts.com, then enter, will appear later on the blog / web that provide backlinks to your blog.
Nevertheless there are many tools to look for / and determines the number of backlinks that we have, such as backlinkwatch.com, smartpagerank.com, diagnosticoweb.com tools and many more others, of course, with levels varying accuracy. I personally prefer to use Yahoo to find out the number of parameters link my blog, because yahoo fastest indexing new backlinks that I made, just my opinion. You can take one of the ways above and even you also can use all the methods above for more valid data.

Dangers of using Styrofoam and a new method for handling waste Styrofoam (recycling)

Polystyrene is actually still quite plastic family. Polystyrene plastic material composed of polymers, namely a long chain of smaller units called monomers which is a plastic forming material.  Polystyrene is a petroleum based plastic made from the styrene monomer. Most people know it under the name Styrofoam, which is actually the trade name of a polystyrene foam product used for housing insulation. Polystyrene is a light weight material, about 95% air, with very good insulation properties and is used in all types of products from cups that keep your beverages hot or cold to packaging material that keep your electronic device safe in package during shipping.

Furthermore, in this article, I will call Polystyrene as Styrofoam as it most people know.

The biggest environmental health concern associated with Styrofoam is the danger associated with Styrene, the basic building block of Styrofoam. Styrene is used extensively in the manufacture of plastics, rubber, and resins. Styrene is the cause of acute health effects are generally irritation of the skin, eyes, and upper respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal effects. Chronic exposure affects the central nervous system showing symptoms such as depression, headache, fatigue, and weakness, and can cause minor effects on kidney function and blood. Styrene is classified as a possible human carcinogen by the EPA and by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

In addition to negatively health affect, Styrofoam unfriendly environmentally. Because itsn't recyclable in nature, the amount of styrofoam will accumulate so it can contaminate water and soil. Styrofoam recycling process that has been done so far is really just to destroy the old styrofoam and then shaping it into new styrofoam and use it again.
But this time has found better metode of processing styrofoam waste. This method is called recycle waste with waste, we will just use orange peel waste that is still fresh. This method was discovered by 2 high school student in Tangerang-Indonesia, named Vici & Andrienne accompanied by his teacher.

Here are the steps :
  1. Chop the orange peel that has been collected into small pieces.
  2. Then blend it and squeeze the orange peel. Or use a juicer so that we do not need to be squeeze it.
  3. Collect the juice in a bowl. Enter the styrofoam that has been cut-scissors into a bowl of lemon peel. Look at what happened, styrofoam will decomposes by the juice. (Cause elements of the existing de limonene in orange peel)
  4. To increase the quantity of the juice you can perform a chemical process.
The other article in site My Own Way's
Hopefully this article can be useful for the readers, and hopefully to motivate the other "Vici & Andrienne", younger generation who care about the environment in order to save the world.
